"At a conference in Seattle in September 1969, I announced that in the spring of 1970 there would be a nationwide grassroots demonstration on behalf of the environment," says Nelson. As many as 20 million Americans participated in environmental rallies, demonstrations and other activities in the 1970 Earth Day.

通過(guò)這期節(jié)目的觀看和學(xué)習(xí)，我自己也感受頗深。因?yàn)殡S著時(shí)代變遷和經(jīng)濟(jì)的飛速發(fā)展，我們的生活雖然變得越來(lái)越便利，科技也越來(lái)越發(fā)達(dá)。但是與此同時(shí)環(huán)境的污染也在急劇上升中，比如因?yàn)槠囄矚夂蜏厥覛怏w工業(yè)廢氣排放過(guò)量造成的霧霾天氣；因?yàn)檫^(guò)渡砍伐造成森林面積縮小從而引起土壤流失土地沙漠化；因?yàn)楣I(yè)廢水亂排放引起水源污染等等問(wèn)題都越來(lái)越嚴(yán)重了。環(huán)境污染成了一個(gè)重大隱患，所以我們?yōu)榱巳祟惖纳姝h(huán)境，必須要從現(xiàn)在開(kāi)始做好環(huán)保措施了。
